Project King Saud Medical City – Al-Shumaisi

Description

King Saud Medical City is one of the largest medical complexes in Saudi Arabia, located in Riyadh. It was established in 1975 and comprises three main hospitals:
• General Hospital
• Women’s and Maternity Hospital
• Children’s Hospital
It also includes:
• King Fahd Center for Kidney Patients
• Dental Center
• Medical Research Center
• Medical Education Center
• Medical Training Center
In 2023, new projects were launched to enhance services and facilities:
King Salman University Hospital:
• Area: 1.2 million square meters
• Cost: SAR 20 billion (USD 5.3 billion)
• Opening: 2026
Center of Excellence for Cardiovascular Diseases:
• Area: 100,000 square meters
• Cost: SAR 3 billion (USD 800 million)
• Opening: 2025
Center of Excellence for Cancer:
• Area: 150,000 square meters
• Cost: SAR 2 billion (USD 530 million)
• Opening: 2024
Rawaq provided engineering consultancy services including design reviews and redesigns of two towers in compliance with the Saudi Building Code and the specific user needs. Coordination is ongoing with the Royal Commission for Riyadh City and Riyadh Municipality to obtain building permits.
